Changing Habits by Changing Your Brain

With the New Year upon us, it’s a great time to set new goals for the upcoming year!

It’s common to set health, financial, relationship and personal development goals with every intention to make the goal a reality. However, sometimes that can be a challenge and February comes around and we haven’t made much progress in changing our former habits to achieve our new goals.

We’ve all been there. Why is that? — It all comes back to the brain!

Our nervous system operates in patterns and a particular habit forms a pattern in our brain. When we want to change that habit we have to first change that pattern in your brain.

For example, if your goal is to wake up at 6 am and work out, you need to change the pattern of hitting the snooze button and waking up at 7 am. How do you do that? That’s where chiropractic comes in! The adjustment is what changes the pattern in your brain from being in a stressed out, chaotic pattern to a calm and connected pattern.

Which pattern do you think is ideal for changing your habits; stressed or calm? Calm, of course! If you want to change something externally, first something needs to change internally and to do that, your brain which controls every function and process within your body must change. The good news is that your brain is very moldable and changeable, but it needs the right ingredients and inputs to do that — that is exactly what the adjustment does for you.

We are excited to help your reach all your goals in 2018 at Peak Potential Family Chiropractic!

Remember, you live your life through your nervous system.
